Forgiving is the hardest thing to do especially when you were the one wronged but it’s the most freeing thing you can do for yourself. Holding on to hurt and disappointment is like cancer for the mind and soul, it eats at you. It’s so easy to say we don’t care, that’s a tell tell sign that you do. We were created to feel and have emotions. Life has taught us to suppress them but never how to deal with them. If we never learn how to forgive and seek help for the things that we do not know where to place we can become cold, guarded and not make the best decisions.

As a child I witnessed so much and felt so much that my young mind could not process and should have had to. The hand that were dealt in life may not have been the best but if you can reshuffle the deck. It took me a long time to get to this point. I found myself in my 30’s at the graveyard forgiving a man that I hated since I was 5 years old. It was the most freeing experience, I left lighter and life became better. I hate to say it but his death saved me because I don’t know if I could have ever forgiven him if he was still here, I didn’t have the courage to.

It takes will and courage to forgive but do it you owe it to your soul not hold on to things, people and memories that are not pleasing to you. Joy, happiness and most of all peace is all that should surround you. Also remember to forgive yourself, you’re deserving of forgiveness as well. Let go and flourish dear heart.
